DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep Tissue Massage corrects posture, releases chronic muscle tensions, relieves muscle fatigue, increases range of motion, increases blood flow, and cleanses the entire body of toxins by stimulating the lymphatic system.
Deep Tissue Massage is a general term covering a range of strategies that deal with assisted muscle release at a deeper level. Other systems that include deep tissue massage are Rolfing, Soma bodywork and Sports Massage.
To bring about relief from muscle tensions and increase flexibility, neuromuscular massage techniques are employed to detect muscle tissues that have become distressed. Effective manipulation of stiff or painful muscle atrophy can incorporate, various strokes, specific hand positions and/or specifically developed techniques. Treatment for lower back, shoulder, knees and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and headaches, are amongst the most common complaints that Deep Tissue specialists treat.
Micro scarring is caused by injuries and/or surgery. These ailments are most benefited from this type of therapy. Often the treatment and pressure begin gently and can gradually escalate to point of some temporary discomfort. Treatment ranges from generally therapeutic to corrective in nature. Deep tissue massage can increase muscle speed, strength and length.
Prior to the therapist using greater pressure, Deep Tissue Massage therapy involves warming up the skin and superficial soft tissues. This insures access to the deeper connected tissue underneath.
